Sometimes people say, you know, obvious things, right?

Like, is the sky blue?

No, the sky is not blue.

It is crimson red.

That's what we saw at the beginning of blood and guts.

And it was awesome. I got to tell you, it was awesome. It really lived up to the standards of what you

would want to see from the first ever women's edition of that match. And it kind of follows the

pattern that we've seen in the course in the evolution of professional wrestling when it comes to the women's game, right?

Where we're now in this point where the era of the diva feels so far in the rearview mirror that I have to specifically reference it to even remember it, right?

Like, where nowadays you've got the same level of match, men, women, you look forward to

it the same level, whether that be Royal Rumbles or elimination chambers or what have you,

and now blood and guts.

And there is something badass about Sky Blue's face to start that match. I push back on

AEW sometimes where I don't need to see John Moxley get stabbed with a fork every week, right?

So, you know, sometimes that loses its novelty a little bit, but in this specific instance,

you're dealing with a match called blood and guts. So why wouldn't it

look that way? Why wouldn't it be presented that way? And you got it right off the back.

And to me, that's going to be the lasting image of the show. It almost doesn't matter what

happens after that. Sky blue with that face, licking her lips as the blood is pouring down.
