I went on Twitter because I was going to send out a tweet about Busted Open after dark as I always do. I was going to head on over to the old Instagram machine and send something out.

And the first thing that popped up was a tweet from Mick Foley. It was a picture of Mick and Terry. And the tweet basically laid out that Terry Funk had passed away.

I have been dreading this moment, this day for a long time, because it was only a couple of months ago that news had come down that Terry wasn't doing so well.

He was in hospice. It could have been in any day situation.

And it didn't turn out to be in any day situation. I think there was an extra, you know, about two months or three months that went by and, you know, Terry finally passed away today at the age of 79.

Terry meant so much to so many people in the wrestling industry.

Terry Funk helped put ECW on the map.

A legend like Terry Funk stepped into a locker room full of misfits and in an instant gave us credibility because of Terry Funk would show up and work for ECW.

I was lucky enough now I wasn't friends with Terry Funk like a Rick Flair was. I wasn't friends with Terry Funk like a Mick Foley was.

But I was close enough with him that I'm comfortable using that word.

And he had used that word with me.

I was on two occasions and I never forgot it.
