Here, Brendan tells me how he got involved with the DC punk scene.

And we went to see the cramps and Teen Id idols were playing, opening up for the cramps.

And so we went out there and, you know, before the cramps came.

And now the reason I went to the cramps because I was going to Rocky Horr and they were playing cramps beforehand.

And I was like, Human Fly was like, this is the most amazing song ever. They're like, oh yeah,

they're playing next month. So we went to the Ontario theater and then the Teen Idles were opening up

for him and the Teen Idols came out and were just raw and having a great time and totally different.

It didn't even sound like music to me. And you didn't know those guys at that point?

I didn't.

Because, you know, Ian's four years older than I am.

So that's like he was 18 and I was 14.

That's a big difference.

Yeah.

You know?

But because you had all these older siblings,

you always seem to be hanging out with the older kids?

Yeah, I always hang out with the older kids. And then when I learned how to play drums, I really hung out with the old kids because I played drums for all those bands.

And so, that's kind of how I started out too.

Yeah, you know, if you can play drums, that's, that's, my brother Kevin, I was playing guitar first.

And my brother's Kevin said to me, he goes, you know, you should play drums.
