BMW is investigating one of its Moroccan suppliers.

Yeah, the German carmaker, BMW, says it's investigating operations at one of its suppliers'

sites in Morocco after media reports of both violations of labour laws and environmental laws then.

The BBC's Katie Silver has been taking a look at the allegations which were first reported

in Germany's SZ newspaper.

They're printing allegations that find a supplier, a mine that produces Colble, in Morocco, which

has managed my company called Managem, as you say, seriously violates environmental and

labour protection regulations.

So to give you an idea it says that on violates environmental

standpoint,

standpoint, excessive levels of arsenic were found in water samples,

as well as saying that they alleged

that the company doesn't comply with international

standards for the protection of workers and that they take action

against any critical trade unions. Now what we understand about Menagerm is that

it's mostly owned by the Moroccan monarchy and it operates a number of minds in several different African countries and in terms of what BMW might need with this coal bolt well it's needed for electric car batteries among other applications when it comes to electric cars.
