Hey, deserving listeners, it's just me today. So I want to talk about this new TV show called

0:05.1

Blue Therapy. It is a reality TV show in which they depict therapy. And I will cut to the chase

0:12.0

and say that this show is a pile of shit. It is horrible. I say pile of shit because I just got done recording a bunch of reaction videos that will be published over the next few weeks.

0:27.2

And in the end, I just spontaneously blurted that out. I was like, you know, I think I was talking about how I'm often wanting more therapy depicted in the world,

0:41.3

good therapy depicted in the world.

0:42.9

And then I said, and yet we get this pile of shit.

0:46.6

So, okay.

0:48.2

So to start from the beginning, there's another show called Couples Therapy on Showtime that has been out for a number of years.

0:57.7

And if you know of the show, then you know.

1:29.5

And I found that to be very professionally satisfying for myself because it gave me a chance to talk

1:35.6

about things I'm passionate about. And also, you know, helps me to hone my skills as a couple

1:41.2

therapist. By the way, for decades, we referred to it as couple

1:45.6

therapy. And then in the last, I'd say 10 years, I would say millennials and younger people

1:51.0

were always referring to couple therapy as couples therapy. I get it. It rolls off the tongue

1:56.2

more, but it doesn't make any sense grammatically because you have individual therapy, group therapy,

2:02.4

family therapy, and couple therapy. None of them are pluralized. You don't have individuals

2:09.7

therapy or groups therapy or families therapy. It's family therapy. Anyway, you know,

2:13.6

whatever. So I think I just have to concede that 99% of people, I even hear professors,

2:21.2

I teach in the couple and family therapy program and I hear the current director of the
