The Green versus Blue Text Bubble. You know it? And you probably hate it, how one startup solved the

iMessage Android problem and found itself in the middle of the fight between two tech

behemoths.

I can admit, Team Blue as well, I'm Mark Gilbert.

It's the Green Bubble Stigma. It's been one of the biggest

fights in tech of the last decade and something antitrust activists and companies

like Google have long pushed for. Why is I message a closed system? Why can you

only get blue text D if you use an iPhone? It seems so mundane but you know both of us have had this conversation with multiple people over the years and I think most people who are listening know what we're talking about.

But let's break it down.

If you are messaging with an Android user on your iPhone. So they're an

Android phone user. Their message shows up in a green bubble. And along with that green bubble comes

missing features like like Reed receipts, whenever someone likes, I get a actual like to not a thumbs up on that message.

But more than that, media quality, it can get distorted you have many many group chat issues

So most people just actually go to what's that but this has been sort of an annoying problem for both sides

And you would think that the solution is so simple and so easy

yet this divide has persisted for what Gilbert decades I want to say now yeah yeah

for more than a decade until now right and that's that's the big story that was last week and that sort of resolved or that that took a step higher over the weekend.

But it wasn't Apple or Google fixing this. It was that tiny startup called Beeper. They took this upon themselves

and they found a workaround. It's technical, but the takeaway essentially is that
