This year, Sierra Designs is giving back 1% of its profits

with the goal of making the outdoors more attainable for more people.

The initiative is called Reach Out, and they're partnering with four outdoor organizations

that uniquely foster long-term relationships with the outdoors. One of them is Black Girls Trekkin.

Black Girls Trekkin is a group for women of color who choose to opt outside and

our mission is to increase diversity inclusion in the outdoors. What we know

is that black women are a strong and present force in the outdoors and our goal is just

to represent that.

This is Michelle Raise, co-founder of Black Girls Trekkin.

We chatted about how hopeful she is about getting the group together outdoors again in 2021,

but if it isn't possible due to the pandemic,

Black Girls Trekkin will continue their focus on wellness.

Right now, we know that our community in particular,

our community of black women and black people in general

are really looking for spaces where they can be their

authentic selves and come together and get support.

And so we hope to be a place where that can happen or we can share space, talk about how we're feeling and maybe get some
