Hello and welcome to the latest Liverpool Echo Blood Red Podcast. I'm Matt Addison with Paul Gorse and Joe Rama both alongside me

All of the Premier League matches this weekend have been postponed after the passing of the Queen while there are doubts over what happens next weekend to around the funeral.

We'll keep you updated of course with any developments in all of the usual places as things happen throughout the weekend and into next week.

We're going to have a quick word on that very shortly.

We're going to be having a chat around that for one defeat to Napoli on Wednesday as well.

Plenty to discuss there in terms of what Liverpool need to do next.

But as I mentioned, Ghorsti will start

with the postponement of the matches this weekend.

It was kind of no surprise ultimately,

something was going to be done.

We kind of thought that that might be the case yesterday.

It has now proven to be the case today, but I suppose a mixed reaction, it would be fair to say,

around the kind of decision that the Premier League has come to.

Yeah, I mean it depends on who you're following on on Twitter early for what the reaction is because

obviously you tend to set you on agenda on your on your social media and the one I found was quite a lot of people who were a bit annoyed and frustrated that I mean essentially it's you know a lot of people putting to the fact that it's going to impact quite a lot of people economically you know so many people who work at football games and it isn't just the

fancy two players and the managers involved it's the

catering staff who were quite a lot of the time on kind of freelance you know

our contracts it's freelance journalists who might not necessarily be getting paid because there's no football to cover this

weekend. So it's been a decision which is taken out of respect obviously for Her

Majesty the Queen, which is all fine and good and you know that there are merits to it, but I just feel it's possibly a little bit short-sighted.

What does anyone really gain from there being no football this weekend?
