So good to have you in the house today and those of you that are joining us through the live

stream. We welcome you here today and we pray that God will continue to bless you and speak to you.

I so value the absolute word of God because it is the power of God that really helps us and leads

and unveils to us the way of salvation. And one of the things that I know is that even

amid holiday festivities that while we celebrate the devil never takes a day off.

He's still wreaking havoc in the lives of people.

He's still making people sick.

He's still breaking up marriages. He's still causing conflict and consternation between parents and their children and siblings

and people that have been offended,

he never takes a day off.

Don't ever forget that,

which is another reason why we cannot afford to ever take a day off from praising God.

We can't afford to have a day off from prayer.

You know, every day, you've got to pray every day because the

devil is busy. He really is busy. And we have to be armed and equipped to be able to handle

all of the challenges that come into our lives based on all that the devil is doing. And so while

we'll hear worshiping God, the devil is trying to stir up trouble for us somewhere,

and we have to hear him off with the power of our praise, the power of our prayer, the power of our service toward God.

I meant, what a blessing.

But our scriptural text today comes from the book of Luke chapter 9.

As you know, Luke is one of Jesus' disciples.

Luke is a medical doctor.
