Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

I want to give a big shout out to all those praying the Rosary with us from Papua New Guinea.

We have a big group there and this is a special day for them.

For today we celebrate the feast of Blessed Peter Toe Row, a martyr from Papua New Guinea.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for,

especially for the healing of Olivia and

Margo through the intercession of blessed Pauline Jericho. Now Peter's parents were some of the region's first converts to Catholicism.

So really, those praying with us today from Papua probably have some connection to this martyr's parents.

The parish priest thought, however, that Peter should be...

should become a priest but his father in hindsight providentially

encouraged Peter to become a catechist.

By the time he was 21 he was skilled in teaching the faith and at 24 he married Paula and they

had three children and he's one of the patrons of married couples to this day.

In his beatification homily for Peter, John Paul said,

inspired by his faith in Christ,

he was a devoted husband, a loving father,

and a dedicated catechist known for his kindness,

gentleness, and compassion.

Daily Mass and Holy Communion and time spent in Eucharistic Adoration sustained him,
