Summary

Matthew 5:3

He doesn't say, "Blessed are those who have it together." He says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit." This meditation sits with that word. What does it mean to be spiritually poor? And why on earth would Jesus call that blessed?

Does Encounter help you accept God's blessings? Please consider giving!

What would it feel like to let go of the need to appear spiritually sufficient, even for just this hour?
