This is the greatest hour to follow Jesus.

Take your Bibles, if you would, to Matthew,

Chapter 5.

And I'm going to read from the new King James.

As you know, we've been in the beatitudes.

Last week, we took a beautiful Holy Spirit detour and we didn't get to the beatitudes.

But that's totally fine.

That just is the way it is.

And we love it when he does that.

But take your Bibles, turn to verse one.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up on a mountain.

And when he was seated, his disciples came to him.

Then he opened his mouth and taught them saying, all right,

blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

A few items of review. Number one, Jesus saw the multitudes. He went up a mountain.

There are times when Jesus goes into the multitude, listen carefully, in times where Jesus goes where he wants to go

with hopes that the multitude will follow him.

And it's imperative we understand that both are true.

Yes, Jesus is loving.

Yes, Jesus is attracted to the hurting. Yes, he is attracted to the

broken, attracted to those who are like sheep without a shepherd. At the same time, there are

moments where Jesus is on a mission and he expects you to follow him.
