Today's transcript

This Lent we will immerse ourselves in the most important teaching of Jesus: the Sermon on the Mount, where He speaks on pride, envy, spiritual laziness, lust, anger, gossip, vanity, and greed. Step by step, learn how Jesus can help us overcome our dominant vices that enslave us. Lent is a time to seek freedom.

If you commit to daily meditation and a resolution, you will come out the other side of Lent freer and happier.

Is there someone in your life who would benefit from daily meditation? Share this podcast and invite them to join you in prayer this Lenten season.

This is the movement of the Holy Family. So welcome to our rosary meditation. Let's be given the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for. The sixth beatitude, blessed are the pure of heart, for they shall see God. To be capable of seeing God, the powers of our soul must be

reintegrated. There are three powers of the soul, the intellect, the feelings, and the will. And they're

0:34.7

designed to work this way. The intellect perceives or becomes aware of reality through the five senses, the imagination or the memory.

0:45.2

The intellect then presents its perception of reality to the feelings as, this is right and good for me, this is wrong and bad for me. The feelings respond to what the

intellect presented with. I like this, prompting the will to choose it, or I dislike that,

prompting the will to avoid it. The will then chooses the apparent good and avoids the evil. So thinking should inform our

1:15.2

feelings which prompt our choices. Thinking should rule our lives, not feeling. The feelings are

1:23.7

meant to be good servants, but if left in charge, they become very bad masters.
