Many people in Philadelphia questioned whether or not he was the solution,

whether or not he was fit to replace Carson Wentz.

And yet in just one year as their starter, he took them from a team with a 4-11 and 1 record to a playoff team.

Everyone from the people at NFL.com to pro football focus were ready to count out Jalen

Hertz the moment he got drafted, giving him a 10% chance to succeed as a starter in this league,

some saying he'd be a backup at best. And while maybe there was reason to

believe early on in his career at college, that Jalen Hertz was not that guy. There was a reason he got

bent for Tua. He was not showing an ability to perform at a high level. But there was a reason he earned

that starting job in the first place. Over 3,600 total yards and 36 touchdowns as a freshman at Alabama. People remember

his incredible physique, tree trunks for legs. He felt like a literal running back. This was a guy

they couldn't wait to get out of the weight room because all he did was work. Even today, many

speculate that he could be a professional powerlifter if he wanted to.

This is a guy that always gets better. A, because of his tremendous athleticism.

B, because of his incredible work ethic. And C, because he's been put in almost every imaginable

scheme and every imaginable situation that he knows how to deal with anything.

I specifically remember a lot of people comparing his style of play to Tassum Hill or Tim Tebow.

And to me, that felt insulting because Jalen Hertz is a much better passer than those guys

ever have been and ever will be.

And on top of that, because of his talent and his work ethic,

you're willing to let that accuracy develop, and it has.
