Tony has been running Black Rock's global technology funds since 2013

and is among the most prominent public market investors in the technology space,

overseeing about $20 dollars in assets.

Tony was in my section and study group at business school, so we go way back

Let's begin by discussing your background as an investor.

What drew you to the technology sector?

Well, it was after graduate school.

I started engineering and this was back in the mid 90s

and I went into finance and investment back in the mid 90s and I went into finance investment making and the natural progression was, well, you know something about the technology because you're in engineering.

And they said, go west, young man.

So I ended up in California and

that's how basically it started but I gravitated toward the technology
