Hello and welcome or not because there's not a new Geek Box episode this week

There wasn't one last week either but that's because we decided to have an actual

Memorial Day holiday so these types of days don't lose all meaning in our work from home world.

This week, the week of June 1st, 2020, there's no new episode for an entirely different reason.

And that is because we just aren't in the mood for it.

Well, our fellow citizens are out there

protesting against injustice, racism, and unfettered police violence in cities across the United States.

And in this moment where our own president is threatening to unleash the might of the military on his own citizens, his own constituents, you should probably be spending

your time listening to voices other than hours.

And while our silly podcast here, going dark for a week, is really not very much at all. We hope that you'll consider this just a small

token of support for the black community, for everyone who's out there actively protesting right now and

for the family and friends of George Floyd. Black lives matter, this moment in our history matters, and I think that what we do and what, um, what make it

count of it is going to inform a lot about certainly what the United States looks

like going forward.

We'll be back another week, hopefully next week, to complain about comic book movies and talk about how cool zombies in The Last of Us Part 2 are, or whatever.

But for now, we hope you'll join us in this moment

and to give the unheard a chance to be heard.
