A new class action lawsuit which was filed in the US District Court in San Crometto, a federal

lawsuit is charging SIGNA, one of the big five insurance companies, one of the large providers

of Medicare Advantage programs too. They're claiming that in violation of California state law

that which requires insurers to conduct a thorough, fair, and objective investigation into

patient claims before they reject them. Keep in mind with real Medicare, no claims are ever rejected.

The Medicare, if they detect fraud, they'll go back and recover it from the provider, but they

never come after you and they never say no, we're not going to pay for that. Medicare Advantage does

that routinely. And as SIGNA, by the way, their CEO is one of the most well-paid health care

executives in the country, in the history of America actually. But this was the charge, relying on the

PD-PXDX system. This is a computer system, a computer algorithm. SIGNA's doctors instantly reject

claims on medical grounds without ever opening patient files. This is from the lawsuit.

Without ever opening patient files, leaving thousands of patients effectively without coverage

and with unexpected bills. They go on to note the scope of this problem is massive. For example,

over a period of two months in 2022, SIGNA doctors denied over 300,000 requests for payment
