All right, we are at the National Museum of African American History.

We are waiting in line to enter the history galleries, which are three floors below where we are right now.

It is so crowded in here.

They're so black. This is such a black space. It's all black people and some white people.

This is after spinning the morning, seeing the Obama portraits at the National Portrait Gallery, as well as some other really amazing

portraits like Russell Means, Tony Morrison, Fred and Hampton. We were really surprised by the curation of the section of the portrait gallery that included

the Obama portrait because the Obama portrait faces a section of the gallery called The Struggle for Justice,

which includes portraits of all these incredible racial justice and feminist leaders

throughout the last century. So already it's been a very moving morning and now we're

in this long line waiting to go into the the hull below and we'll report out once we are on the other side. I'm Autumn Brown, a queer science fiction writer, a theologian, a mother of dragons, and a healing justice facilitator for social movements living in rural Minnesota.
