In 1973, that number was 5,600.

There were no personal computers, no mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, or Kindles.

People read paperback books.

They went out to the movie theater to watch a film.

DNA hadn't been used in a criminal

trial yet, and wouldn't be for another 13 years. The world 47 years ago was different,

but the act of murder, the taking of another human's life, sadly, was not. In 1973, three brutal

murders were carried out along Interstate 57 in Illinois.

The man responsible with three accomplices was Henry Brisbane.

He was just 17 years old.
