There's something missing in the cover art for Beyonce's 2020 film Black is King.

It's a film starring Beyonce, a film written, directed and produced by Beyonce, a film full of Beyonce's songs. And yet on its cover, Beyonce, one of the biggest stars on the planet, is nowhere to be found.

Instead, we see a small boy floating in the vastness of outer space. He suspended between

planet Earth and a full moon, the stars ablaze behind him. Like every shot,

symbol, lyric, dance, and ensemble in Black is King.

This cover image has a deeper meaning.

And according to co-director Quaycey Fourjor,

it's one that gets to the core message of the film.
