If you haven't yet listened to it, please listen to it before you listen to "Ep. 3: Tamar and Fauna Hodel", as much of episode 3 won't make sense without having listened to the second episode.

This season is based on one of Ashley's favorite podcasts of all time, Root of Evil: The True Story of the Hodel Family and the Black Dahlia. As the title explains, the podcast is about the murder of Elizabeth Short (aka "the Black Dahlia"), as well as the Hodel Family.

In this season, we'll explore the man behind the mystery of who killed Elizabeth Short, George Hodel, and the generational wake of terror and destruction that he left, causing members of his own family to name the podcast the "Root of Evil" after him.

In our second episode, Ashley and Megan from Give Us Morgue, dig further into Elizabeth Short's murderer, George Hodel. Hodel was a genius, with an IQ one point higher than Einstein- he was literally an evil genius. A highly regarded doctor who allegedly raped and murdered multiple women.
