One of my dearest and oldest friends, B.J. Baum from American Aquarium is going to be the one asking the questions this time. One of my dearest and oldest friends,

BJ Barham from American Aquarium, is going to come on the show and interview me about a new

album that I am in the process of putting out right now. And it's kind of a unique album in that

it's actually a re-recording of my debut album.

My debut album called Nation of Heat was a solo acoustic album.

And this re-recording is a complete reimagining of that solo acoustic album with a full band,

with members of my Morning Jacket, with members of the killers of Jason Isbell's

400 unit. So it's a completely new thing, a completely new album. And I thought,

what better person to interview me and kind of hear about this new album process and how the old

album came together and how the two dovetail together then my good friend bj barram of american

aquarium so let's welcome him on now what's up dude dude how are you thanks for doing this

hanging man um i am so stoked to be uh i was crushed when tim did this a few years ago

because i really i really thought i had a good shot at it.

But I'm happy to play second place and do the second one.

Well, when people ask me, you know, have you made a lot of friends in the music business?

I'm like, I have two true friends in the music business.

And it's Tim from Strand

Vokes and B.J. Barham, who I've known you guys for over a decade apiece. And I mean, I have a lot of friends, but I mean, you guys are the only ones that I'm like constantly texting and calling to complain about things. So I think that's the mark of a true friend, right? You're my, I would say I've got less than five.

I wouldn't call them friends.

I have some acquaintances.

You're the one true.
