Is gold the actual debasement trade?

Bitcoiners down bad and sometimes get mad at the fact that gold is ripping.

Corners down bad. And sometimes, what did you say? Big mad? That was good. So my dad's been doing victory laps on our phone calls recently because Bitcoin is, as you said, in the cold opening floundering.

And it's still up significantly year to date. And, or sorry, year over year. But, you know, gold has just been making headlines. And, of course, he's a huge gold bug. He's got a little Bitcoin. But, you know, he's always been like, I just think, you know, when push comes to shove, people want gold. And I think you need to diversify a little bit and get you some of that gold.

And I was always something, yeah, dad, I just think that, you know, like Bitcoin is more

asymmetric upside and all that stuff. But, you know, the gold bug boomers have been having a

field day this year. And you got to give them credit. Gold has been stealing the show and is really back in the spotlight

as the hedge for currency debasement, specifically here in the U.S. And, you know, you have the social

media posts of people lining up at pawn shops and gold brokers. I don't see people lining up at

pawn shops by Bitcoin. And people are saying like, no, you don't.

But people are saying like, oh, that's the top. And like, you know, I think that's just, you know, if what we're talking about on the show today is true, the trajectory of what we're going to be discussing is true, then it's just really the start for this. And I have to say, you know, shout out to the gold bugs and the boomers.

But ultimately, gold has been doing really well this year, and Bitcoin has not been doing as well

as a lot of people would hope. And we're

going to get into exactly why that is. All roads lead to China. It's not Rome. Actually,

to China in this case. And we're also going to talk about some of the other geopolitical

factors that might be influencing this.
