Bitcoin skyrocketing to a new record above $11,000, surging 50% from its April low, driven by institutional

investment via ETF inflows and corporate Bitcoin treasury adoption. Bitcoin is still below its peak

when measured against gold and silver and some other major currencies, like the British pound

and Swiss franc, indicating there's still room for further appreciation. Bitcoin reached its new all-time

high of 11-800 on the 15th anniversary of Bitcoin Pizza Day when the first commercial

transaction of Bitcoin was recorded, exchanging two pizzas for 10,000 BTC, which today would

be worth over $1.1 billion. U.S. President Donald Trump is hosting a gala dinner and VIP reception Thursday night

billed as the most exclusive invitation in the world at the Trump National Golf Club,

Washington, D.C. for his 220 top meme coin holders.

Collectively, $394 million worth of the token have been bought for the event, according to Nansen,

generating millions of dollars in trading fees for the Trump family and their partners.

Several Democrats will stage protests ahead of the dinner rallying against pay-to-play access to the president's office,

arguing Trump's involvement in the crypto project constitutes corruption.
