But we are going to dive into what birthright citizenship is, whether it still makes any sense. |

| 1:09.8 | born in the U.S., like literally on U.S. soil, automatically become citizens just by virtue of being born here. |
| 1:18.6 | This is what birthright citizenship is and is being revisited. |
| 1:23.8 | What's interesting is about this case is that the justices seemed skeptical of the Trump position here. |
| 1:36.8 | Trump position, of course, is that there's no automatic right to so-called birthright citizenship. |
| 1:44.8 | That's not what the language of the Constitution says, |
| 1:49.3 | and it's not what the motive or intent of the framers of those provisions meant. |
| 1:57.8 | So the judges, however, seem to be dubious that Trump is right. Of course, we have been |
| 2:09.5 | allowing people right up to the point to get this kind of birthright system. It has become a widely abused system where illegals can come here, have a kid, |
| 2:23.3 | boom, the kid is a citizen, eligible for all kinds of benefits. |
| 2:27.3 | The kid gets the benefits, that supports the whole family. |
| 2:31.3 | But even worse, we've been hearing recently about this birthright tourism and about |
| 2:38.1 | Chinese billionaires giving births to all kinds of people, sometimes through surrogacy |
