Hey guys, and welcome back to Friday's very special episode of Short Stories for Kids.

Now today is an extra special episode because it's our birthday!

Yes, we are one year old today.

Yes, one year ago today we started this podcast and oh my goodness guys, we can't believe

how fantastic it's been and how wonderful all of you guys have been with your story ideas

and your messages of support and you have just been amazing and you've made

recording this podcast amazing and it's something that I love to do and Alex and Simon love

being part of the team and writing your amazing stories so thank you guys so much.

Now we thought it would be nice to share our first ever story that we ever put out.

Called Jason and the robot and this is a story about Jason who gets a special school science project

to do at home where he has to build a robot and we'll find out just what happens when Jason

builds his very special homemade robot. Enjoy!

The school bus had not even pulled away by the time Jason burst into the kitchen.

Mom! Mom! I've got to do a science experiment! He bellowed. Whoa! Slow down there. You'll take a

tumble. His mum replied. She just got him from work and was fixing herself a milky coffee.

Now, what's all the shouting about? But Jason wasn't listening. He'd already disappeared into

another part of the house. Things were falling over. Doors were being slammed and various objects

dropped on the floor. Jason shouted his mum. Justice her son reappeared, marching back into the

kitchen. His arm stuffed with paper and crayons. He dumped them onto the kitchen table and pulled out

a chair. I'm doing science, mum. A science experiment for school. I need to think of a good one.

Science, hey? Say, Jason's mum. What do you have in mind? A sundial? How about growing something

from a seed? Jason picked up a large blue crayon. Ha! My experiment is going to be better than

...
