To be clear, it's actually called the born to rebel hypothesis and it was developed by the American psychologist Frank Solaway back in 1996

and it's centered on the idea that later born children are more likely to develop traits

diverging from societal norms to make themselves different from their older siblings.

As the theory goes, firstborn kids are way more likely to conform to the needs and expectations
