Hey, everybody, welcome to another preview edition of Birds Weekly, presented by the Inside the Bird Network for Ray Dendron, Derek Gunn.

And the Eagles, the next opponent, the Los Angeles Chargers. You know, they always say

the best way to get the bad taste of a loss out of your mouth is get right back in there and play

another opponent. But in this case, the Eagles would be better be aware of what they asked for because

going out west to play these chargers is no joke.

But Ray, an interesting development occurred.

On Sunday, the charges beat the Raiders 31, 14, to get to 8 and 4.

They are number two in the AFC West.

They are the five seat overall in the AFC.

But their franchise quarterback, Justin Herbert, early in that game,

broke a bone in his left hand, his non-throwing hand.

He left the game, came back and finished the game.

Then we find out after the game he's going to have surgery on the hand on Monday.

Now, he says he's proceeding as if he's going to play next Monday night against the Eagles. His head coach, Jim Harbaugh, says, we don't know if he's going to miss any time. I'm sure

it's all gamesmanship right now. But boy, wouldn't that be something if he didn't play against

the Eagles next Monday night? It really would be. I saw the film of his press conference in which he was very matter

of fact about, no, I'm going to play. I mean, it wasn't even like, well, we'll see how this goes,

or I need to talk to the doctors or anything like that. I mean, it came up and he said, yeah, I'm going to get

surgery, but yeah, I'm playing Monday night. Don't even worry about that. So now that's what he's

saying. I don't know. I mean, he was hardly out of the game at all. I mean, he went out and

then came right back in. And it was interesting, though, they didn't put him under center at all after that.

He played the rest of the game from the shotgun because I guess to protect his hand from the impact of the ball.
