1:03.1	The word biotech means a lot of things to a lot of people, so I think it would be useful
1:06.9	to spend a little time discussing what we mean when we use the word in this episode.
1:11.6	The most obvious type is genetic manipulation.
1:14.7	In principle, if any person, animal, plant, or microbe has an ability, it should be possible
1:19.8	to recreate the ability through genetic manipulation.
1:23.2	This should allow everyone to be as smart as the smartest human who has ever lived, as strong
1:27.8	as the strongest, and so on.
1:30.4	It could allow us to hibernate during long journeys through space or navigate by Earth's
1:34.5	magnetic field.
1:36.0	In reality, the possibilities are probably far greater than what has naturally evolved
1:40.1	and happens to have not gone extinct.
