and the upcoming podcast and educational platform dirty talk so yesterday we talked

about the energy budget talking very much about the laws of physics right and

today we're following on about that and we're talking about something called the biomass

timeline but I think L.B. if we could just start with someone who doesn't know what

biomass even is or maybe they have a faint understanding could we just get a

real precise definition of that?

Sure, for our purposes I'm going to use biomass to refer to

basically what's left when life leaves an organism.

Okay, perfect.

So if I die, I am now biomass.

Yep.

If a tree dies, it's biomass, you know, a bug, anything, any type of organism.

Okay, perfect.

And so then when we get into the idea of a biomass timeline, how does that even play out or what does that even mean?

Sure, the most common way that most people interact with the biomass timeline is

compost, right?

Everybody's heard about compost before. So we kind of understand that it has to do with the

breakdown process of biomass. When I say the biomass timeline, there is a whole, we refer to compost as an item at about
