With a woman to look at culture from a Christian worldview, I'm John Stone Street with the point.

Recently, a Texas professor filed a lawsuit against his institution after being allegedly fired

for teaching that a person's sex is determined by chromosomes.

Dr. Johnson Varkey said the administration at St. Phillips College, a community college,

told him that several students made complaints about his quote,

unacceptable religious preaching in biology class.

Now, it's unclear exactly what they considered to be religious or preaching about the lesson.

Is saying that the word male corresponds to XY chromosomes or that the word female corresponds to XX religious

or that the perpetuation of humanity and any and all species that we know of requires sexual reproduction

between male and female, which of course implies that same sex relationships are by nature sterile,

because they are?

Wasn't that long ago when Christianity was accused of being anti-science?

The new charge seems to be that basic science is too Christian.

But you won't get much argument on that from Christians.

After all, astronomer Joe Honest Kepler describes scientific study as thinking God's thoughts after him.

And yet at the same time, we should all, on a practical level, take care that our doctors have a higher view of biology

than the St. Phillips College administration.
