He said, quote, I had a vision for what I wanted to be, and it might not totally get there in year one.

I'm the big O Jerry Estroski, and after listening to this Jim Leonard Press conference, this defense reminds me of a black sheep song.

And, uh, you know, like guys, I'll be honest. Like I was kind of the cold open there. I listened to a bunch of it. I thought in a complimentary way, like, there's a lot going on with this defense. And when Jim Leonard has asked, hey, can you simplify it? The answer in short is no. He can't.

He's like, well, think about this. And then maybe think about this. And these guys are over. It was a complicated press conference to a point. So it's definitely going to be a very different defense. Because if there's one thing I think we all knew, we knew what a Shaw McDermott defense was going to look like. And what it was going to do. and with Jim Leonard, like Joe, you even alluded to it there in your open as well.

He kind of laid out a timeline, which I think is important and also I think smart to do in this kind of transition. It's got to be that way, right? I mean, this is a massive change for what the

bills are going to be defensively. And it's unrealistic to think that everything he wants,

he's going to get in one off season, especially after they spent the previous draft stock in

the cupboard for a completely different defense. And now they're having to tweak

the bodies of some of those guys to make it work for this one. It's just a reality of the situation.

And I thought Jim had a lot of self-awareness to the fact that it might not be the vision I had

for year one. It's almost like a little bit of a, I've been listening to y'all.

You sound pretty excited, but let me just tell you, don't have quite all the tools I want to make this thing come to life. So we'll see, you know, he's got to make it work with what he's got. And there's been investments, but I mean, he pretty much came out and told us, yep, not everything I need quite yet.
