wealth reporter here at Forbes here to tell us about billionaire T Denny Sanford

being kicked out of the Giving Pledge.

Jemima, could you tell us some background and what the Giving Pledge is and his significance in the world of philanthropy?

Sure, so the Giving Pledge is this huge philanthropic commitment that was started by Bill Gates and Warren Buffett in 2010.

It's now run by Bill Gates, Melinda French Gates and Warren Buffett together.

And basically, the premise is that they get

the world's wealthiest people to sign on to this commitment

to give away 50% of their wealth at least either before or after their death so they could leave it in their

wills that they're going to give away that money.

And it's gained over 200 signatories over the years, including of you know the world's wealthiest people like

Elon Musk is signed on Mackenzie Scott Jeff Baysos is ex-wife, is signed on as well.

So it's taken by a lot of famous billionaires and philanthropists who want to give back most of their

wealth.

I wonder, my amount, what were the reasons behind T Denny Sanford's removal from the Giving Pledge?

So we don't actually have the exact answer to that because the Giving Pledge confirmed to us that he is no longer a part of the pledge but they didn't give us any

reasoning why. We are able to kind of deduce based on the timing of when he was

removed the reasons why. So T Denny Sanford was investigated

in a child porn probe in South Dakota

by the South Dakota Attorney General's office.
