Summary

Episode 089 - Four days before Christmas in 1990 a North Vancouver woman named Cynthia Kilburn was kidnapped from her home. A threatening ransom note asking for $8.5 million was found pinned to the door of her home; her two children, 4-year-old twins, were found bound, but unharmed, in an upstairs bathroom. Unknown to most of her neighbours, Cynthia is the daughter of the philanthropic BC billionaire businessman and Canada's fourth richest man, Jim Pattison. The kidnappers knew who they had, but their poorly thought out scheme did not go as planned.Sources:Dead Ends: BC Crime Stories by Paul WilcocksR. v. they're doing it again for plagiarism. It keeps happening. The plagiarism is just outrageous.

1:10.8

It is, but like what gorgeous people are going to sue us. Fair enough. It's like

the views, information and opinions expressed during the Dark Poutine podcast are solely those of

the producer and do not necessarily represent those of curious cast. It's affiliate global news,

nor their parent company, chorus and entertainment. Dark Poutine is not for the faint of harder

1:30.7

squeamish. Listener discretion is strongly advised. We're not experts on the topic,

1:35.2

sweet present, nor are we journalists who are two ordinary Canadians chatting about crime in

the Dark Side history. Let's get to it. Put on your tuk, grab yourself a double, double, and
