I have in the studio Andy Green and Rob Sheffield in a moment we're going to be

joined by Brittany Spanos. And we're going to be joined by Brittany Spanos and we're going to talk about a

controversy that set Twitter a flame this week and I wanted to talk about it because

there's just a lot of ins and outs about this

controversy a lot to talk about

because first of all it probably shouldn't have been a controversy at all

when I'm referring to is

Billy Eilif said on the Jimmy Kimmel show

that she had never heard of Van Halen.

And it came in a segment where Jimmy Kimmel was kind of just quizzing her

based on the amazing fact that she is only 17 years old and was born in December

2001.

She never heard the words been out.

I mean I think some context is important that she was born this is post-Gerry Sharon this is after three

singers when they were just in a wasteland which in many ways they're still kind of

there in a crazy way that's despite two reunions but in

oh one like Van Halen was so in the review mirror of the culture and I wanted to say

of course Billy Eilish who is 17 should not have heard of Van Halen.

It doesn't surprise me at all.

Anyone who condemned her for that is nuts.
