71 years of age. The news this afternoon touching us all a beloved colleague for decades a basketball giant first a

unicorn of ability and panache the likes of which the 1970s had ever seen at UCLA the peak of dominance then the NBA a face of

greatness and then a perseverance through injury upon injury and then of course a

voice for generations of basketball fans and beyond what we

lovingly referred to as an American original. I'd like to respectfully question

that because that would mean he was from this planet and

we all know Bill traveled intergalactically and on a multiverse plane.
