our own thoughts, reading deeply in books, and cantering another mind in that silence

of reading.

We are constantly oriented towards not just the group, but the approval of the group.

We constantly want to stay aligned with the group.

We want to stay in good, standing with the group, whether that's a formally defined identity

group or more, really, whatever group we happen to have gathered around us on social

media, like the people who read our posts and who like our posts and respond to our posts.
