Brian, let's switch up to tune here on the Irish Breakdown podcast brought to by our friends over at Van Duel, because the last topic of conversation got us pretty fired up.

I'm hoping this one does, but kind of in an opposite direction, we're talking about the biggest wins of the Marcus Freeman era.

And we split this into two different conversations.

We're talking postseason first, and then we're going to talk regular season because if you talk about it in its entirety, obviously it would be the postseason wins.

But, you know, this is, before we dive into separating postseason versus regular season, figured it would be good to kind of talk about what defines a big win.

It's not necessarily beating a ranked opponent or not just the margin of victory.

Some of it goes into the impact that it had on your program. We're going to talk about the impact

that certain wins, especially in the regular season, had on Freeman's tenure and the outlook

that it changed and the impact on that season alone. So that's where we have to start this

conversation. Yeah, we were thinking about like there's some different things we're going to do this offseason where we're going to kind of talk about, like, top players of this era, and we're going to do some stuff of, you know, who are the best offensive players from 2000 to present, who are the best defensive players? So we're going to have some kind of fun on these midweek rundowns Next week, we're also going to start as part of our midweek rundown, kind of doing quick

looks at Notre Dame's opponents, which I'm very excited about as well. But, yeah, we're talking

about what should we do in our very first sort of Notre Dame look back history type of conversation

and thought that going through Marcus Freeman's biggest

wins would be a lot of fun. And so we're going to start with that, Travin.

To your point, it was like, okay, it's hard to compare regular season and postseason. So we decided

we're going to go in both directions. We're going to do both. We're going to separate the two

and talk about what are the biggest regular season wins and what are the biggest postseason wins because rarely is your regular

season win bigger than your postseason win. Now that's, I say rarely because I know the last

time Notre Dame won a national championship, a very strong case could be made that their biggest

win that year was not the title

game against West Virginia because technically it wasn't a title game. I don't think West Virginia

would have won at all. I think it was number one versus number, I think three or four.
