Hey, everyone to the Eagle Eye podcast brought to you by Nissan, Ruben Frank, and Dave Zangaro.

0:21.1

We just got back from the Novakar Complex, listening to Harry Roseman and Nick Siriani.

0:27.2

Let's not waste any time.

0:28.4

Let's just get into it.

0:29.3

What was your biggest takeaway?

0:31.4

My biggest takeaway, I guess, is that they're open to any sort of candidate for this offensive coordinator position.

0:39.3

They're not going to limit it to a certain coaching tree or a certain style of offense,

0:45.3

or I guess most importantly, how that coach kind of is going to split up the responsibilities with Nick Siriani.

0:53.2

So it sounds like they're open to anything.

0:56.6

And I know one concern is that they're going to hire a young guy who's going to come in with

1:02.2

his own scheme, be here for one year. They'll do really well. And then they'll lose them

1:06.2

to the same way they lost Shane Steichen and Kellan Moore to a head coaching job.

1:28.0

And Howie Roseman was asked about that. And he said, we're not really going to limit ourselves because of that. We're going to hire the best guy. If he gets a head coaching job, that means we had a great season. And that's the only way you can do. You can't just not hire a guy just because you worry he might leave after a year. But when you have autonomy between the head coach and the and the coordinator, that's a possibility. Yeah, totally. So there was a lot.

1:34.6

It was a lengthy press conference, a lot of questions. Some of them sidestepped skillfully by both

1:40.5

the GM and the head coach. A little word salad in there, some filibustering at times.

1:47.2

Yeah, but I think the main takeaways I had were similar to the ones you had.

1:52.4

And I think so many of the questions are yet to be answered because we don't know who

1:56.6

they're going to hire.

1:57.2

And I really do think that the name we end up hearing is going to dictate

2:01.9

a lot of the roles, a lot of the coaching staff around that offensive coordinator. And it's

2:09.2

really tough to know until we know who that person is. Yeah. And if you bring a former head coach

2:14.9

and he does well, he's going to be a candidate in the next coaching cycle.
