I am a 64-year-old woman who has not lost her marbles,

and a couple of years ago, I believe a Bigfoot was watching me.

If you turn out of my apartment complex and head east, the pavement ends and it becomes

woodsy with hardly any houses, most of which sit back far away from the road.

A creek runs alongside the portion of the road, as does a swamp.

The farther you walk down the road, the darker

it gets because of the tree cover. There are deer and herons and coyotes and turkeys and cranes,

and God knows what else. Whenever I walk down that road, I have my camera in hand. When my first

Pomeranian Spunky was still alive, he and I headed out early one morning

for a walk.

I liked to go walking early while it's still cool enough for him.

It was barely light out when we headed east down the road.

The sun just started peeking out and the birds were singing and it was a little misty.

And all of a sudden my dog stopped dead in his tracks and refused to go any further.

More than that, he was trying to head back home with all his might.

And I kept saying, come on Spunky, let's go for a walk.

But he kept pulling me with all his might toward home. I was totally focused

on his strange behavior, trying to figure out what was going on with him when a horrible

odor hit my nose. It was a combination of rotting animal carcasses and feces. I noticed that

the birds had all stopped singing.

There were no squirrels or chipmunk sounds either.
