Hi everyone, thanks for listening.

Tonight's first guest is Dave Rice.

Dave, welcome to the show.

Happy to be here, thanks for having me.

Dave, let's jump right into this and 71 you had your first Sasquatch encounter.

Please tell us about that.

Sure. Well, I had just turned 16 years old, got my driver's license, and on a Saturday night,

my dad said, why don't you take a car and just drive into town? We lived about seven miles outside of the little town where me and my brother and my sister went to school. So that kind of came as a surprise, but I said, sure. So I wrote into town, went by and picked up a friend of mine,

and to kind of preface all that in this area

on the outskirts of town in the country.

There had been a rash of people having their chicken coops broken into, things like that,

barns broken into, and people had actually sight cited some type of creature.

Now at this point in time, Vic, I don't think anybody's ever heard of Bigfoot in this part of the country,

so it was never referred to as Bigfoot or saswatch. People refer to it as the monkey man. And that kind of

morphed into the monkey man just as a play on words. So I went by and picked my friend up and I said, well hey, let's just, let's look for the monkey man. So he said, yeah, sure. So probably mile, mile and a half north of town was what had been the Black School prior to integration.
