My name is Daniel White. I'm 34 years old.

Outdoorsman do a lot of hunting, a lot of trapping, kind of the way of life around here. I know these mountains around here. I've walked them all my life. Back in June of 2016, there is a government access road. It's called the new road. And I was out on that. It was right around 6, 6.30 in the afternoon. I mean, the sun was starting to set. You know, in the thickest area of the side of the mountain there, I saw something come across the road.

Of course, it was a good ways in front of my pickup, you know.

And I was looking at it and at first, you know, I couldn't figure out what it was coming up over the bank because it was kind of way out there but it was tall

And so I stopped the truck it come across the road and started up the mountain when it went across the road,

the first thing I thought about was,

okay, what is this?

I've never seen a bear, you know, walking on his hind legs going

like that, especially going up the mountain and so I

slowed up you know and I started back off and eased on down the road a little bit and

went across the road it didn't show no signs of, you know, running or or scared or whatever it was.

And when I come up there to where it crossed the road, I stopped the truck and I got out of the

truck and I just looked and the only thing I could hear was with trees

crash and branches cracking and it was done half ways up the hillside and of course it was

so thick you know I couldn't really tell what it was it was
