The deeper you are into the backcountry, the more critical your quality of gear becomes.

Because if you're way in, let's say on a fly-in hunt, somewhere in Alaska or even just down.

I mean here in Idaho where I live there's flying opportunities

in the Frank Church River and I'll return wilderness

and so forth.

If you're in there and especially if you're solo and you have a catastrophic

gear failure it can mean the difference between surviving and not. So the cool thing about extreme quality gear is that performs just as good for weekend or day trip hunts as it does in the backcountry under extreme conditions.

The reverse is not true.

Inexpensive gear that may get you buy

when just out for a weekend outing out of your truck may end up proving to be your demise

when you're in a really deep backcountry hunt.
