Welcome to the Audible presented by Trader Joe's. I'm Stuart Mandel, joined as always by Bruce Feldman, who, hours before we came on, landed back in L.A. from Big Ten Media Day. We will be meeting up at Pack 12 Media Day on Friday. But curious, Bruce, from afar, following this from afar, Big Ten Media Day,

0:39.4

especially the first day on Tuesday, really felt like the Kevin Warren victory tour. A guy who,

0:47.2

for the first two years of his time as commissioner, was mostly known for kind of botching the

0:53.9

messaging around whether they were going to play or not

0:56.3

in 2020. The alliance, you know, nothing particularly flattering goes out against USC and UCLA

1:03.5

and woo boy. There were some flexing going on there in Indianapolis. Yeah, I think there was. And I think a lot of the people

1:12.5

around the league were feeling like it was a little bit of a victory lap. This was the first time

1:17.3

since that news had really come out that everybody was together. And so I think, you know,

1:23.5

obviously the impending TV deal with the Big Ten is happening pretty soon.

1:30.1

And so we expect that to be a big money thing.

1:32.4

Now, you know, whether schools will be getting $60 or $70 million for the TV deal.

1:38.8

And I think it's like, I mean, this isn't where I wanted to go right here.

1:42.0

But I do think you and I've had these conversations a little bit offline and maybe on the podcast the last time, but just about,

1:50.4

I think there is a lot of confusion when it comes to when people talk about projections for

1:56.6

what the TV deals may be or the rights deals, but also I think people get confused where

2:03.2

they'll see a number that's the total revenue as opposed to just what they're getting for

2:08.7

their broadcast partner. Yeah, realignment just in general is very confusing. I mean,

2:16.5

I've spent the week immersed in conversations on Twitter and in radio

2:20.7

interviews about exactly what you're talking about, TV value, subscriber fees, affiliate fees,

2:30.6

and it's like the season's about to start.

2:33.2

But to your point, especially when it comes to the survival of the PAC 12, there's a lot of numbers being thrown around.

2:42.0

And just quick cliff notes here.
