Summary

Doug, Nathan and Stephen try something new on this Thursday Buckeye Talk. In the wake of the firing of Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst, it's time to spin the Big Ten coaching wheel. Doug, Nathan and Stephen had to decide whether current Big Ten coaches kept their jobs based on the rules of this game: 3 coaches had to stay in the current jobs. 3 coaches had to move from one Big Ten job to another. 3 people associated with Ohio State (mostly current or former assistants) had to take over a Big Ten program. 3 other new hires had to be picked. And the final 2 spots were wild cards that could be done in any of the four categories. The result was a discussion of every Big Ten coaching job and whether the right person is currently in the job, but with a twist. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk from cleveland.com. library. Stephen means a Nathan Bear now and no rapid fire Nathan. I just it's great. Ohio State's

playing really well. I just kind of wanted to do something else. So we are going to I made up

0:40.0

these weird rules and we're basically going to play coach roulette in the big 10 and we are going

0:46.7

to shuffle coaches around the big 10. We are going to bring in some new coaches. We are going to

0:52.0

keep some coaches at their current spots. Obviously, this keyed by the firing of Paul Christ at

0:57.6

Wisconsin. I'll explain the rules in a minute Nathan, but is it okay that we are covering

1:03.6

one of the best teams in the country and they're getting ready to play, you know, a real conference

1:08.6

opponent and we're like, I don't know. Let's just mess around for an hour. We need some drama

1:14.0

for this team probably so that we can get some good conversations going again. And I think you

1:19.7

had some on the rant pod. We just did for Wednesday and we'll have some good discussion for the

1:27.8

pregame pod that we're going to do for Friday. But for today, I think this is a good exercise.

1:35.4

I will say are we what? I'm at the point now where I'll leave my comments for that pod,

1:44.4

but are we really going to have a good discussion about how this machine can stay with Ohio State

1:47.9

games going to go? No, this game specifically is a little iffy, right? It's a little weird.

1:57.0

How much has changed so quickly for Michigan State? But next week when they are off, I think we

2:04.8

will have some good football discussions because we're going to revisit our preseason ranking as a

2:09.4

players where the tech subscribers got involved. And we did, you know, like value and specialness

2:15.2

and all that. We're going to like redo that and see what has changed. I think we'll do some kind of,

2:21.4

you know, midseason awards, biggest surprises, kind of stuff. So I do think it'll be a good reset.

2:26.6

But like this game, this game is a little bit of a rough one. So we'll be back on Friday. The three
