The enchantments are one of the crown jewels of Washington State. It's an incredibly popular destination for hikers and backpackers.

They just framed this truly beautiful chain of lakes.

The thing is they're just outside of Leavenworth.

It's a really easy place to get to, in a sense.

You can theoretically do it in a day,

wake up in Leavenworth or even in Seattle and, you know, be home for bedtime.

But a shortage of park rangers and overcrowding are making for some big challenges right now,

and there are calls for emergency restrictions to limit access.
