Hello, welcome to Big Picture Monday.

My name is Callie Black here with all the context you need to totally rock this week's

Come Follow Me readings.

This week is February 23rd through March 1st, and we are studying Genesis chapters 18 through 23. I'm going to give

you all the context and the story so that as you go through the chapters that you're reading this

week, you can feel a little more confident to dive into them. You're like, yes, I understand what's

happening. But then also the cool part that I think happens when we go into the scriptures with an

understanding of what's happening is we're a little more free and open to receive revelation

and to just ponder for a little bit and not worry so much about what am I reading about. And there's

just this freedom I feel like that comes when we understand what's going on in the scriptures.

That's why I love doing these episodes each week. Thanks for being here. Let's talk about what's

happening here as we're in kind of the middle part of the book of Genesis. This week we are going to continue

the story of Abraham and Sarah. So I want to start with a quick review of what we've learned

so far about their stories so that you can kind of, we can all be on the same page moving

forward. So Abraham and Sarah had not had any children yet,

but Sarah had been promised a son of her own someday by the Lord. They are old and age,

but Sarah had this promise from the Lord. So we have this going. We do have that Abraham did actually technically have a son

with Sarah's handmade, Hagar. Sarah had given Hagar to Abraham when Sarah was like, I can't have kids,

and Abraham and Hagar had had a son named Ishmael, although the Lord had made it clear that

Ishmael was not going to be
