Welcome to the News and Why It Matters. I am Sarah Gonzales and I want to get to our top

story, which is the project Veritas video that blew up the internet last night. They released

one of their undercover videos. This one shows allegedly a Pfizer employee, Jordan Tristan

Walker, who claimed in this footage that I'm about to show you, that the pharmaceutical

company is exploring the possibility of mutating COVID through what they call directed evolution

to develop future mRNA vaccines. Let's watch some of that.

We're exploring, you know the virus to mutate them? Yeah. One of the things we're exploring

is why don't we just mutate ourselves so we can put up some pre-election. We have to

do that. If we're going to do that, though, there's a risk. As you could imagine, no one

wants to be having a pharmaceutical mutating virus. Yeah. So we want to do that. So that's

like one of these are considering. Okay. The future, maybe we can create new versions of

vaccines. It looks like that. Okay. So Pfizer ultimately is thinking about mutating COVID?

Well, that is not what we say to the public. We know. That's why it was a thought that

came out of meaning. And we're like, why are we not? It was like, we're going to consider
