Summary

Kiz and the crew discuss this week’s PLAYERS Championship, what makes the championship so special, debates over “majors,” and Kiz losing in a playoff in 2015. Just a huge show going into a massive week in golf and it's all brought to you by Chevy.

0:35.2

Great show. Shout out to Chevrolet. We're about to be on the road again. I'll be meeting you guys in Florida tomorrow. Very excited for a huge week. Like you said, the players just brings it like no other tournament does. And Kisner on this show, man, is this exciting? I mean, just for our listeners that have stuck with us, our diehard four play fans that have been there from the beginning that have listened to your guys very first episode till now. The evolution of this show is quite the story. You can write a book on how many times the show has changed. It's, it's look, it's feel, where we've tried to go, what doors you've tried to get into. And now the fact that Kevin Kisner is one of these guys in this box on this podcast that I'm looking at and talking golf with. It is such a great show. He's so insightful. He's literally in the booth talking about the golf. And then he comes on here and gives his entire take on it. And for all of our listeners to now just get that insight and in a barstool way because he doesn't, he just lets it fly. He hasn't governor. He hasn't put the governor on anything anything he's just like nothing's going to get me in trouble because this is who i am i'm just going to say my opinion and i that's gotten me to where i am just like for us we've always just had our opinions and we've set them and there's a lot of people out there in media that hold them true to themselves and they and then they get a drink in them or they're at dinner with their friends and they say a totally other thing. Kevin Kisner is exactly the same person that is on this podcast as he would be at a restaurant with you talking golf. And that's what I love about him. This show is unbelievable. Let's get to it. Shout to Chevrolet, man. The bold, athletic and confidence style, the Equinox looks just as good at the course as it does off the map with active trim. Equinoxes at home on dirt and gravel. The Equinox also has a big touchscreen that puts all your music, all your maps, all your tech, front and center. Chevy Equinox is you do it all. Go Anywhere SUV. Oh, Rick. What's that my brother? I got a buddy who struggles with that shot. A lot. His name's Frankie Borrelli. So the guys actually gave him a nickname of Butter Knives because he always knifes it across the green. Brok 100. Now you've got to break 90. We appreciate what you guys do for golf. It's been really cool. Thank you. You're making it cool. We appreciate it. I was like, hey, Phil, you only fucking $29.99. And he grabs 100. He's like, yeah, I won $90,000 of these yesterday. He goes, take 100 and go fuck yourself. What? What are you guys fishing with? It's ain't a hobby. Foreplay. Presby Barstool Sports. This is our first experimental, remote podcast with Kevin Kisner, who if you're watching on YouTube, immediately has the best setup and studio and background of everyone in the group he's got. Super producer, Brennan Jones, is there with him, has set up the entire thing.

3:14.2

And I would say overall, at the beginning, by far, our biggest success and a huge success story over there.

3:15.4

We pulled this off in 20 minutes.

3:17.3

I'm the most needy of the four of us.

3:19.1

So I had to make Brendan fly all the way to Aiken, South Carolina, to set this up.

3:23.3

But you're going to get really accustomed to how needy I am over the course of this lifetime. Also the most important. So I feel like most needy, most important, completely fair, completely fair. We got Trent Ryan's going to do set up too. Yeah, I had Brendan Jones come up to my apartment as well. I was a prima donna about it too. Like I had come all the way up jared our other producer was here this morning making sure everything was right but i figured if we got kevin kisn on the podcast now it's not just three idiots talking about golf anymore we actually have somebody who knows what he's talking about now so i figured i should get a setup that looks a little bit professional and here we are by the way you said jared Jared our behind the scenes guy, shout out to Jared just got engaged this weekend. So the four-played family is growing. Yes, we have Kevin Kizner. We also have a new fiancee in the mix. So congrats to him. It's a big family now. Congrats to Jared. Jared's the best. Big moment. Yeah, things are happening, man. It's been like a decade. We've been doing this thing. So people are, they're meeting people, getting engaged, people were having kids. Kids is turning into a podcast with an elite setup. So things are happening. Things are just happening, man. Huge week, gentlemen. Just an absolutely huge week in the world of golf right out of the gate. Um, you know, it's our second week really with kids. He's going to be on the call. And, you know, we were all kind of tweeting about it at some point yesterday on Sunday during the final round of Bay Hill, which we're going to go through because it was awesome. But just like hearing you on the call kids, it just, it was such a different perspective and element for me.

4:49.1

It was almost made me laugh out loud when I was traveling across the country and I pulled it up and I was like, usually I don't really care about the volume. No offense to anybody else, but I usually don't really care. And then I just needed to tune in. And right away, I just kind of heard you come in with your little Southern draw and comment on something that has happened on the 11th hole.

5:05.0

And I kind of laughed out loud, but it's also extremely cool.

5:08.6

Yeah, what a planet we live on, right?

5:10.3

I went from drinking wine after winning tournaments to hanging out with you idiots to now calling golf with Dan Hicks while I'm hurrying home to jump on a podcast as one of your co-hosts right now.

5:22.0

So wow, full circle.

5:24.9

Calling golf still challenges the hell out of me, to be honest, because you never know what

5:29.5

you're going to get in live sports.
