And actually, it's just me for a quick check-in and an announcement that season two of Finding Fire

Island is premiering this Thursday, June 11th. Yes, I have been working on a second season

of my docu series about the history, mysticane lore of Cherry Grove and the Pines since the fall. It's going to be a

brand new eight episode season. And this season goes deeper into the history of the Pines,

which has been pretty gate kept over the years. A lot of season one was really about Cherry

Grove's history.

So it's been really fun to uncover so much about the pines and the true deeper reasons for that historic rivalry between the two communities.

Okay, the cast.

So you may remember in season one, we had Joel Combuster, Margaret Cho, Matt Rogers, as well as long time Cherry Grove icons, Rose Levine, and Pansy. This time, we've got Billy Porter, John Waters, Julio Torres, Lena Bradford, DJ Lena Bradford is back, Rose Levine is back,

as well as Broadway Bears creator Jerry Mitchell, as well as Pines people who have been there

since the 50s, 60s, 70s. Some of the themes we're diving into this time around are we're doing a whole sex before the

internet. So like the history of cruising, the art of the DJ with legendary Pines and

Manhattan DJs Susan Moribito and Robbie Leslie. What else? The history of the Pines pantry.

I interviewed the owners of the pantry.

There were a straight married couple who met when they were working at the pantry in the

70s as like pantry girls and stockboys. So pantry girls, owners of the pantry,

interviewed the firefighters who literally keep the island from burning down.

These are gay and lesbian volunteer firefighters who have to go through the grueling

firefighter one training program on Long Island.
